FACTE SUMMER CONFERENCE
August 3rd, 2010
10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

The FPSCC will have a full-day pre-conference session on:
SCHEDULING FOR CAREER ACADEMIES AND SMALL LEARNING COMMUNITIES

Valerie JonesDr. Valerie Jones will present how to transition large, comprehensive high schools into Small Learning Communities/Academies. Discussion will include how to create this structure through the National Standards of Practice. This session will include samples of registration forms critical for the successful development of the Master Schedule, one of the most challenging aspects in Educational Reform. Presentation of materials will be mixed with open question and answer segments to address the specific needs of attendees. Come and see how changing school structure can personalize education for students (relationships), provide pure classes for integration of curriculum (relevance) and how career and technical classes can support core academic course (rigor).
