The Florida Public School Choice Consortium’s 2008 Annual Conference

Kathy HarrisThe Florida Public School Choice Consortium’s 2008 Annual State Conference will be held in Orlando, Florida at the Nova Southeastern University Campus near the Mall of Millennia on November 18-19, 2008.  The purpose of this conference will be to provide an opportunity for district management teams, college and university faculty, parent advisory councils and school choice community members to learn about the latest research on school choice, collaborate with colleagues from across the state, and participate in professional development sessions on current topics that involve school choice.

Conference sessions will include Critical Conversations, panel presentations for promising practices on parental empowerment, concurrent sessions on Florida’s Differentiated Accountability Program and Florida School Choice History as well as breakout sessions on Conducting Parent Resource Centers, Data Tracking and Reporting, Evaluating the VPSC grant and Equity Issues when Planning and Implementing Career Academies.  

Partners include the Nova Southeatern University, National Institute for Education Options, FLDOE School Choice Parent Resource Center, and FLDOE Voluntary Public School Choice.
