Title I Award

Title I AwardYouth Co-Op Charter School (YCCS) is proud to announce that it is a recipient of the 2008 - 2009 Title I Distinguished Schools award, given to those Title I schools that show strong sustained academic achievement, and an ability to close the achievement gap among its lowest students.  While there are almost 14,000 Title I schools in the state of Florida, only 17 schools earned this award.

The Superintendant for Dade County Public Schools was also notified of the school’s achievements by the Florida Department of Education.  The State Board of Education will be recognizing these schools throughout the school year as well with a booklet containing information on the 17 awarded schools.  As one of only two charter schools in the entire state to earn this award, YCCS is both honored by this achievement, and proud of its students for making this a place of success.  Along with earning an “A” school grade for the past 8 years, and keeping its good standing with 100% Annual Yearly Progress in line with federal standards, we are excited to share this good news with the rest of our community, and continue to motivate our parents, students, and the rest of our stakeholders for even higher achievements.
